According to reviews, it is so rare to find a movie or series that isn’t based on a book, movie, or comic book. The movie also appeals to every demographic and is very relatable on how far people can go just to make money.
The only negative feedback about the show was that the translations were not perfect but translation is an art and it cannot always be perfect I suppose.
The creator of the show Hwang Dong-hyuk wrote the script of the movie several years ago but was rejected by a number of studios until he found Netflix in 2019. He wrote and directed all the episodes himself.
