by The world is in shock after Trevor Noah revealed that he is leaving Comedy Central’s ‘The Daily Show’. He is a 38 – year- old South African comedian, writer, producer, actor and television host. Noah hosted the show for 7 years and during that time he got several Grammy Awards.
He revealed his plans to leave the show during its airing on saying he loved hosting the show and it was one of his greatest challenges. He revealed how he loved making people laugh even on the worst of days.
It hasn’t been revealed the exact time he will completely leave Paramount Global cable network or when the network will get his successor.
Trevor Noah’s talks about his exit
“We are grateful to Trevor for our amazing partnership over the past seven years. With no timetable for his departure, we’re working together on next steps,” the network said in a statement.
“As we look ahead, we’re excited for the next chapter in the 25+ year history of ‘The Daily Show’ as it continues to redefine culture through sharp and hilarious social commentary, helping audiences make sense of the world around them.”
He worked very hard to personalize the show and it worked. His banter with the guests during the breaks created a lot of social media conversations. During the coronavirus pandemic, Trevor Noah hosted the show from his apartment. He was able to steer the show into a more tone to attract an older audience while at the same time maintain the younger audience.
“I want to say thank you to you, to you who watched this,” Noah said. “Never dreamed that I would be here and sort of feel like ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.’ I came here for a tour of what the previous show was and then the next thing you know I was handed the keys.”
“Don’t worry, I’m not disappearing,” Noah said. “If I owe you money, I’ll still pay you.”
Trevor and Dua Lipa
Noah was later seen cozying up and kissing Dua Lipa after an intimate dinner in a New York hotel. Dua Lipa is reported to have split up with her boyfriend Anwar Hadid and Trevor is said to have split up with Mink Kelly.
